Look at your list of memorized payees by going to Tools-Memorized Payee List Find somebody who you know you haven't paid in a really long time, and remember them. Close out of that window to return to the main window. Click Edit-Preferences. In the Preferences Window in the tree pane click Register-Data Entry and QuickFill. Enter a value in Remove memorized payees not used in the last N Months textbox.

Representative Payee. Social Security's Representative Payment Program provides benefit payment management for our beneficiaries who are incapable of managing their Social Security or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments. The Memorized Payee List allows you to save frequently used information so you don't need to reenter it each time you enter a transaction. The Memorized Payee List saves information about payees such as categories, amounts, and memos.
Click OK. Exit Quicken, and open it up again.
When Quicken loads up again, go back into Tools-Memorized Payee List and see if the Payee you haven't used in a long time is still there; the list should be considerably shorter.
. Bring up the Memorized Payee List in Quicken: Press Ctrl + T or click on Cash Flow, Memorized Payee List. On the bottom left or at the top of the Memorized Payee List, click on New. The Create Memorized Payee window will open. Use the drop-down list next to Type of Transactions to enter the type of transaction you would typically have with the payee, for example, a deposit or a payment. Enter the name of the payee. Use the drop-down list next to Category to choose the category or categories you would most likely use for this payee.
For example, if the payee is a gas station you may typically use the category, 'Auto.' If the payee is a department store, you might want to select multiple categories that you would typically use when shopping there.
